Making A Difference in Our County

University of Georgia Cooperative Extension is working hard for its constituents. The following are examples of Extension’s impact and contributions in the county over the past year, one thriving program at a time.

The Gardens at Brookdale produced more than 4,2000 pounds of food while educating 321 participants. The Master Gardener program contributed over 1,000 volunteer hours. The School Gardens program achieved first place in the State Great Potato Stem Challenge.?VITA clients benefits from $35,214 in tax refunds and saved over $13,000 in preparation fees.?EFNEP nutrition education sessions totale more than 3,036 hours, assisting 623 families.?The Bibb County 4-H program conducted in-school club meetings for over 300 members across six schools, and the archery coached earned the estemmed State Volunteer of the Year Award.?
