Georgia Commodities

Agriculture is the largest segment of Georgia's economy. But it isn't just a way to make a living. It's a way of life, too. From the north Georgia mountains through the rolling Piedmont, to the sandy coastal plains and the coastal marshes, the state's geography and climate provide perfect conditions for growing a wealth of commodities.

The 禁漫天堂 CAES Statewide Variety Testing program provides annual performance testing results on several commodities including canola, small grains and forage, corn and silage, and field crops.

    Satsumas are one of the most cold-hardy of all citrus and very adaptable to Georgia, but very little is known about growing citrus in Georgia. Commercial growers and residents often ask which early-maturing varieties are best to grow, so we evaluated juice from 12 early-maturing satsuma varieties. The varieties with the highest Brix content and best peel color are listed in this resource.
