4-H Youth Development

What Is 4-H?
4-H is a world in which youth and adults learn, grow, and work together as catalysts for positive change. 4-H's mission is to assist youth in becoming self-directing, productive, and contributing members of society through "hands-on" learning experiences.

Who Can Join 4-H?
Any youth ages 9-19 is eligible to join 4-H. Being a member of 4-H is free. Every public elementary school in Spalding County has 4-H Clubs in their 5th-grade classes. 4-H. Contact the Extension Office for information about enrolling in 4-H.?

$4 for 4-H on 4/4 is happening NOW!! Please join us and support our Spalding County 4-H program by clicking the link: then select Spalding County. Help us turn our county green on the Georgia map!

Our goal is to raise $4,000 this year. If we reach this goal, then our graduating seniors will pie Mrs. Elizabeth in the face! (A final farewell gift of sorts.)

Thank you in advance for this amazing county's continued support. You make this program great! ?

School Club Meetings

5th Grade & 6th Grade

4-H holds monthly club meetings in the 5th and 6th-grade classrooms at public and private Spalding County schools. These meetings are held during the school day for one class period. A curriculum correlated to the Georgia Performance Standards is used for club meetings.

All 5th graders in the county are enrolled as Cloverleaf members of Spalding County 4-H. 4-H'ers will bring home monthly newsletters with information about upcoming activities.

6th graders are given a choice to attend monthly club meetings at school.

Middle School

Middle School meetings are held at Carver Road, Cowan Road, Kennedy Road, and Rehoboth Road Middle Schools. These meetings are held monthly during the school day and are optional.

4-H'ers will bring home monthly newsletters with information about upcoming activities.

Home Schoolers and students who attend a school where 4-H meetings are not held are welcome to attend Clover Council (5th & 6th grades) and County Council (7th-12th grades). Clover Council and County Council club meetings are held every second Monday of the month from 6:30 p.m - 7:30 p.m. at the Spalding County 4-H Office.
